The Superbuy question comes up constantly. A 2019 JadeShip post presented WeGoBuy as a Superbuy alternative with looser item policies, written by someone who said he knew Superbuy staff; KakoGuide calls it Superbuy's sister brand; World Trademark Review reported Superbuy's chief executive denying a link. Whatever the truth, balances were never transferable between the two.

Verdict: Treat WeGoBuy as closed. Anything claiming to be WeGoBuy today and asking for money deserves suspicion.

Rebuilding an old WeGoBuy spreadsheet for Sugargoo

A WeGoBuy link wrapped the original marketplace address, much like Superbuy's did. Underneath each row is a Taobao, Tmall, 1688 or Weidian listing, which Sugargoo accepts directly.

1. Convert the column. Paste the WeGoBuy links into the link converter; it decodes the wrapped address or reads the platform and item ID.
2. Expect casualties. Most WeGoBuy sheets are two years old or more. Sellers relist and close shops, so a large share of rows will open empty pages.
3. Paste survivors into Sugargoo. The search bar takes the original link; use a DIY Order for anything it won't read.
4. Replace the dead rows with current finds from the Sugargoo spreadsheet or its category sheets.

Verdict: Salvage what converts, replace the rest. An old sheet is a list of ideas, not a list of live listings.

Old prices, old rules: what else has changed

WeGoBuy sheets also carry a subtler problem: prices and sizes from another era. Yuan prices from 2023 or 2024 rarely match today's, and several years of US and EU rule changes sit between then and now — the end of the US $800 allowance in August 2025 and the EU's €3-per-category duty from July 2026. Budget from the listing as it is today, and from Sugargoo's current lines, not from anything written in the sheet.

If WeGoBuy still had your money

If you had money or parcels at WeGoBuy when it went dark, the options are narrow. There was no announcement and no published process for balances. Collect what records you have — order numbers, payment receipts, emails — and check whether any payment is still inside a dispute window with PayPal or your card issuer; for most, it won't be after this long. Ignore anyone who offers to recover a WeGoBuy balance for a fee.

WeGoBuy's silence is the clearest example of why a spreadsheet should never depend on one agent. It gave no notice, published no process for balances, and simply stopped resolving. Three habits protect you if it ever happens again, wherever you shop. Keep the original marketplace link or item ID in every row, not just an agent's version of it. Keep your balance close to zero between orders, which matters more at Sugargoo because refunds return to the Sugargoo balance. And ship items within the free storage window rather than parking them for months. None of this is a comment on Sugargoo's health, which was normal at our last check; it's simply cheaper than finding out the hard way.
