Where KakoBuy does better than Sugargoo

Speed. rep.tools tracked KakoBuy parcels from the moment the shipping fee was paid and found a median of one day before dispatch, with 85% out within four days outside Chinese New Year. Sugargoo doesn't publish a comparable figure. If you tend to decide late and want the parcel moving immediately, that matters.

Photos. KakoGuide lists seven free QC photos per item at KakoBuy, with extra shots at ¥1 each; Sugargoo's safety page promises five product photos before shipping. Two extra angles is the difference between seeing the stitching on a collar and guessing at it.

Payment costs. Sugargoo charges 4.8% + $0.50 on a card top-up. rep.tools lists KakoBuy's PayPal fee at 2.9% + $0.30, and KakoGuide describes a handling charge of roughly 3% on cards. On a $300 haul that is about $15 at Sugargoo against about $9 at KakoBuy. KakoGuide adds one caution: KakoBuy's exchange rate ran roughly 8% over the interbank rate in mid-2026, which can quietly outweigh the fee saving.

Review momentum. KakoBuy collected 250 Trustpilot reviews in the last year against Sugargoo's 52. More recent reviews make it easier to spot a problem early.

Where Sugargoo still beats KakoBuy

EU shipping. Sugargoo's EU tax-free lines clear customs before local delivery. JadeShip quoted the Germany version at about $75 for 4 kg in September; KakoGuide's June sample for KakoBuy's Triangle line to Germany was about $122 all-in. The quotes are months apart and prices move, but a gap that size is worth checking on your own parcel before switching.

US clothing parcels. Sugargoo's US Duty-Free Clothes line (13–17 days, up to 5 kg) is designed for exactly the parcel most spreadsheet buyers send: a few hoodies and tees. It's clothing-only and has no return service, but for a clothes haul it's a simple, duty-inclusive option.

Rehearsal before you pay. Sugargoo's ¥18 rehearsal packs the parcel and reports its real and volumetric weight before you choose a line. It's the cleanest way to avoid a weight surprise on bulky items such as trainers in boxes.

Track record. Sugargoo has been trading since 2020. KakoBuy started in 2023 as Hagobuy and briefly went down in mid-August 2026, which set off shutdown rumours before rep.tools confirmed it was running again on August 31.

Verdict: For European buyers with heavier hauls, Sugargoo usually still wins on the final bill. Check both quotes for the same weight.

Moving a Sugargoo cart or sheet to KakoBuy

You can't transfer items between agents' warehouses, so moving from Sugargoo to KakoBuy is really three separate jobs:

  1. Ship or finish what's already at Sugargoo. Items in the packing centre have 100 free days from arrival; send them from Sugargoo rather than letting them expire.
  2. Move your list, not your cart. Sugargoo works with original Weidian and Taobao links, so the links in your sheet paste straight into KakoBuy's search. Links from other agents need converting first — the link converter strips any agent format back to the original listing.
  3. Deal with the balance. Sugargoo refunds go to your balance, not your card. Spend it on the last Sugargoo parcel or request a withdrawal; the refunds page covers how.

Many buyers end up using both: KakoBuy for quick single items, Sugargoo for the big EU or US clothing parcel. Nothing stops you, as long as you track which items sit in which warehouse and keep an eye on both storage clocks.

What happens when a KakoBuy parcel goes wrong?

KakoBuy's weakest point, according to rep.tools, is what happens when something goes wrong. Insurance claims are read strictly — rep.tools advises filming the unboxing of any expensive parcel — compensation is often paid in coupons rather than cash, and refunds can be slow. Its Trustpilot page reflects that split: 66% five-star but 22% one-star, a wider gap than you'd guess from the 4.1 average.

Sugargoo's own insurance terms are published in full (1–4% of the insured value (¥500–¥5,000 cover), 72 hours to report a partial loss, payment within three working days of approval), which makes it easier to know in advance what a claim will look like. Neither agent is generous when a parcel is seized; both are clearer when you've insured it.

Verdict: Whichever you choose, insure anything expensive and film the unboxing. That habit matters more than the logo on the parcel.

Can I use a KakoBuy spreadsheet on Sugargoo?

Yes. KakoBuy spreadsheet rows are Weidian or Taobao listings. If a row holds the original listing link, paste it straight into Sugargoo; if it holds a KakoBuy-formatted link, convert it to the original listing first.

How long does KakoBuy store items?

rep.tools says 100 days free, with a reminder at day 90 and ¥20 per further 100 days. KakoGuide lists 180 days. Sugargoo's own figure is 100 days from arrival at the packing centre.

Is KakoBuy shutting down?

No. It had a short outage in mid-August 2026 that started rumours, but rep.tools confirmed normal operation on August 31, and it was working when we checked in September.

Which is cheaper to ship to the UK?

Both run tax-inclusive UK lines, and prices move weekly. Sugargoo's own example put a 3 kg clothing parcel at about $27.94 on Royal Mail (PH). Get a KakoBuy quote for the same weight before deciding.

Can I send my Sugargoo items to KakoBuy?

Not directly — agents don't transfer stock. Ship them from Sugargoo, or post a parcel from one warehouse to the other as an ordinary delivery — Sugargoo treats incoming parcels as forwarding orders with 30 free days; check the other agent's rules first.
