Sugargoo Shipping to Paris: French Lines, TVA and the €3 Duty

The short version

Sugargoo runs several France-only lines, and its January 2026 guide recommends FR Tax-Free (Actual Weight): about 9–13 days, up to 5 kg, charged on scale weight with TVA (20%) included. Most French lines stop at 5 kg — some at 2 or 3 — so bigger hauls go on the EU-wide IOSS lines (up to 10 kg) or the DHL route (up to 15 kg). Since July 1, 2026 parcels worth under €150 also pay the EU's flat €3 duty per category of goods, so a parcel of one or two kinds of items is cheaper than a mixed one.

The French lines are quick but tight on weight. A parcel of tees, trousers and a cap fits comfortably under 5 kg; two pairs of boxed trainers and a jacket won't. When a haul outgrows 5 kg, it's usually better to split it into two FR Tax-Free parcels than to move everything to a slower EU line — check both quotes in the freight estimate.

Verdict: Up to 5 kg: FR Tax-Free (Actual Weight). Heavier: split in two, or use the EU IOSS or DHL line.

TVA and the €3 duty on a Sugargoo parcel

On tax-included lines the 20% TVA is collected with your freight, so La Poste or the courier shouldn't ask for anything at the door. Since July 1, 2026 the EU adds a flat €3 of customs duty for each category of goods in a parcel worth under €150, with TVA charged on that too.

Add a second kind of goods and duty becomes €6; go over €150 in goods and the flat rule no longer applies, so normal product-by-product duty rates do.

Getting it delivered in Paris

Paris apartment buildings are where parcels go astray: digicodes, unnamed letterboxes, a gardien who's out. Put the building code and floor in the address, add a French mobile number, and write your name as it appears on the letterbox. If you're rarely in, have the parcel sent to a relay point where the line allows it. Be suspicious of SMS messages asking for customs fees on a tax-included parcel — pay only on the carrier's own site if it's genuine. Tracking is under My Parcel → Check Logistics in Sugargoo.

Keeping a French haul affordable

Two limits shape a French parcel: 5 kg for the fast lines and €150 for the flat duty. Remove shoe boxes, ask for vacuum packing on knitwear, and use the rehearsal (¥18) to confirm the weight before you choose. Items wait free for 100 days, which leaves time to sort a haul into two tidy parcels. Clothing labels such as 175/92A convert on the size chart; EU shoe sizes need no conversion.
