CSSBuy Spreadsheet: A Stated 6% Fee, a Court Case, and the Sugargoo Alternative

The short version

CSSBuy is one of the older agents still trading — community sources date it to around 2013 — and one of the few that states its fee plainly: 6% of the item cost, falling to 5%, 4% and 3% at its Gold, Platinum and Diamond tiers. That's ¥60 on a ¥1,000 haul at the standard rate. Sugargoo's fee is disputed between 0% and about 5%, so on a Weidian-heavy spreadsheet CSSBuy is unlikely to be cheaper on fees. CSSBuy also carries a legal cloud: in October 2024 a New York federal court granted four fashion houses a US-only preliminary injunction against its operator and kept about $140,000 frozen. It was still operating when we checked.

What CSSBuy's 6% costs in yuan, next to Sugargoo

Many agents advertise 0% and earn elsewhere; CSSBuy charges a stated percentage and cuts it for regulars:

At the catalog's rate of about ¥6.35 to the dollar, ¥60 is roughly $9.45 on a $157 haul. At Sugargoo the same line is either nothing (KakoGuide, W2C) or around ¥50 (Rep Finds Archive's 5%). The gap is real but small next to shipping, where KakoGuide rates CSSBuy "mid-to-high" and buyers report its calculator underestimating by $20–$50.

Verdict: CSSBuy is honest about its fee. For an occasional buyer, 6% is a real cost that Sugargoo probably doesn't charge.

Why is CSSBuy in a US court?

In 2024 Celine, Christian Dior, Loewe and Fendi sued HONGKONG CSSBUY E-COMMERCE CO., LIMITED in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York (24 Civ. 4627). The court's opinion of October 30, 2024:

  • granted a preliminary injunction in part, finding the brands likely to succeed on trademark claims;
  • limited it to conduct in the United States, declining a worldwide order;
  • kept an asset freeze of roughly $140,000 in place.

A preliminary injunction isn't a final judgment, and we found no published final outcome. For buyers the practical points are narrower than the headlines: CSSBuy kept operating, US addresses may see more branded items refused, and it's another reason to keep balances small. We found no comparable case against Sugargoo — KakoGuide's June 2026 review recorded no raid, lawsuit or shutdown.

Verdict: The case is a risk signal for CSSBuy, not a shutdown. US buyers in particular should keep top-ups modest.

CSSBuy's calculator and US shipping

"cssbuy shipping calculator" and "cssbuy usa" are common searches, and they meet in one complaint: estimates that come in low. For US parcels CSSBuy offers a DHL line labelled "Tariffless"; Sugargoo's equivalents are US Tax-Free (8–15 days, up to 10 kg) and the clothing-only US Duty-Free Clothes line (13–17 days, up to 5 kg). Since August 2025 every US parcel from China owes duty, so a line that includes it saves a bill at the door.

With either agent, treat the first estimate as a floor. Sugargoo's ¥18 rehearsal replaces the estimate with a measured weight; at CSSBuy, add $20–$50 to the calculator's figure to be safe.

Moving between CSSBuy and Sugargoo

CSSBuy spreadsheets are some of the oldest still circulating, so expect more dead listings than usual. Convert the links with the link converter, paste the originals into Sugargoo's search, and check each listing. Sugargoo spreadsheet rows paste into CSSBuy just as easily, if you'd rather stay.

One point in CSSBuy's favour deserves saying plainly: a stated percentage is easier to plan around than a fee nobody publishes. If you shop there regularly, the tier discounts bring it to 3%, which on a ¥1,000 haul is ¥30 — close to what some "free" agents make back on exchange rates anyway. The judgment is less about honesty than about volume: occasional buyers pay the full 6%, while regulars who reach the upper tiers pay about half.
