HooBuy's six QC photos against Sugargoo's five

More photos help most on the items where one detail decides whether you keep them — a logo, a seam, a sole colour. HooBuy's six HD shots per item cover front, back, label and a couple of details; one or two ¥1 extras usually close any gap. Sugargoo's free set is five product photos, and extra shots come through its photograph add-on.

"HooBuy spreadsheet with qc" is one of its most common search suggestions, and QC is what its reviewers praise most. Before photos arrive, decide the three details that would make you send the item back, and buy a close-up if one isn't shown.

Verdict: On photos alone, HooBuy edges Sugargoo. Use the extra shot deliberately, not as a reason to skip checking.

HooBuy's 8% clause, and Sugargoo's fee question

KakoGuide read HooBuy's user agreement in June 2026 and quotes it reserving a service charge of "8% of the purchase price" and "8% of the shipping cost". HooBuy's marketing says no hidden fees, and rep.tools records that it advertises no fee but publishes no fee table. A company can choose not to apply a fee its terms allow; the terms are still what count in a dispute.

Sugargoo's position is murkier in a different way: trackers disagree on whether it charges 0% or about 5%, but its fixed costs — ¥8 packing, ¥18 rehearsal, 1–4% insurance — are published on its own blog. At either agent, screenshot the checkout breakdown and query any line that isn't item, domestic delivery or international shipping.

Verdict: Treat HooBuy's 'no fees' as today's offer, not a promise. Your screenshots are your protection.

Refunds and reviews: where the two agents part ways

HooBuy's Trustpilot page is sharply polarised: 64% five-star, 29% one-star, little in between, with the newest review on August 12, 2026. Happy reviewers mention quality and fast delivery. Unhappy ones describe what happens after a problem — warehouse delays, bot-like support and slow money. One reviewer said cancelling items took four months and the refund longer; KakoGuide adds that 2026 reviews describe the service getting worse, and HooBuy replied to about 22% of negative reviews.

Sugargoo publishes refund deadlines — 24 hours before purchase, 3 working days once bought, 10 once warehoused — and pays ¥50 to ¥200 in coupons if it misses them. That doesn't guarantee a smooth refund, but it gives you something specific to point to.

Verdict: If refunds and deadlines matter to you, Sugargoo's written rules are the safer ground.

Using HooBuy and Sugargoo together

Using both is easy: HooBuy for the items where six photos really help, Sugargoo for the parcel you'd rather have on published terms. Your spreadsheet links work at either. To move a HooBuy sheet, convert its links with the link converter and paste the originals into Sugargoo; for anything already in HooBuy's warehouse, ship it before day 90, because HooBuy's terms treat items left past free storage as abandoned.

If you do keep a HooBuy account, the habit that protects you most is dating everything: screenshots of each checkout with the fee lines visible, the date each item reached the warehouse, and a note of any promise support makes in chat. HooBuy's 90-day limit and its polarised reviews both reward a buyer who can show exactly what was agreed and when.
