Which Sugargoo line suits an Australian parcel?

Sugargoo's December 2025 comparison of 3 kg clothing parcels put its Australian options anywhere from about $15–20 on sea and economy lines to $70 or more on express, with tax-free air lines around $30–40. That spread is the point: Australia rewards choosing the line deliberately.

Verdict: Under 3 kg: AU Small Packet. A normal haul: AU-EXPRESS. No hurry and lots of weight: sea.

How GST works on a Sugargoo parcel

Australia charges 10% GST on imported goods worth A$1,000 or less at the point of sale, under rules the Australian Taxation Office applies to overseas sellers and platforms. In practice, on Sugargoo's Australian lines GST is dealt with before delivery, so Australia Post shouldn't ask for anything at the door.

Above A$1,000 the parcel is treated differently: duty and GST are assessed at the border and processing charges can apply. For personal hauls that rarely matters, but it's another reason to split a very large order.

Delivery in Sydney

Most Australian lines finish with Australia Post, so the usual options work: a Parcel Locker address, collection from the local post office if you're out, or redirecting through the AusPost app once the number switches over. For apartment blocks, put the unit number first ("Unit 4, 12 …") and add an Australian mobile number. Distance makes weight expensive, so the usual habits pay off more here: remove shoe boxes, ask for vacuum packing on bulky clothing, and use the rehearsal (¥18) to see real and volumetric weight before picking a line.
